Tribalism is an powerful, intellectually crippling addiction. The consequences result in morals and ethics being situational, depending on the prevailing political narrative at the time. How people forget how morally liberating and refreshing it is to have a standard for morals and ethics and apply it across the board. Instead, partisan tribalism reduces accountability to whataboutisms “the other side does it!” in a morally derelict race to the bottom. And our society and culture suffer as a result.
Intellectual honesty and moral clarity still remain timeless virtues. Thank you David for holding firm to them.
