The Delta Force was one of my favorite 80s movies.

Since you mention the Revolution, I’ll also plug my favorite historian, Rick Atkinson. I’m currently reading the second volume of his Revolutionary trilogy. He has a a great series on the US campaigns against Germany in WWII.

His history is very detailed and readable. Highly recommended.

"(Spiderman?—The Pedant)"

(Spider-Man—The Pedant)

Spidey is hyphenated while The Man of Steel is one long run-on word: "Superman".

Excuse made up on the spot: “Didn’t want to get a cease & desist from Marvel so I used the cheap knock-off version—The Pedant”

It’s fixed now.

I was just having fun with your joke.

I have to review the metadata for between 400 and 500 comic books every week for https://freshcomics.us/ so stuff like that gets drilled into one's head pretty deeply.

The thing that drives me crazy is things like "Avengers" vs. "The Avengers", where publishers seem unable to remain consistent on the official titles of their series.

Stephens County was where I attended the first grade when my dad worked for a defense contractor in Toccoa during WW2. The streets were crowded with soldiers from the well-known Army base at Currahee Mountain and I could see paratrooper practice jumps from our home. Later on, as a high schooler in a neighboring county I hoped to become a basketball starter, but my dreams were shattered in a game at Toccoa Falls School, a missionary school that offered high school and junior college at the time. My team had a substantial lead late in the second quarter and I got to play. To my surprise, I got to start the third quarter. My assets were speed and defense. I promptly stole a pass and drove to wrong goal.

Jasper County and Monticello are probably more famous today as Trish Yearwood's home.

Your skepticism about being able to open the Hormuz Strait might be justified but we will not know for several weeks. President Trump tries to keep his plans secret but sometimes he just doesn't know when to keep quiet. I would never give a hint of future plans in a conflict.
