Blocking major thoroughfares and disrupting normal day-to-day commerce is not peaceful. A work stoppage (which I hate) would be more peaceful and would bring business pressure on the politicians. Consumers might grow to hate the truckers when they can't get toilet paper, food and beer but they would increase the pressure for some kind of change. In Canada the preferred solution might be to nationalize the trucking industry. Like medical care and TV, delivery of goods would become a human right. Total socialism is right around the corner.

Ain't it crazy? The people who were decrying road blockage as a form of protest (even introducing legislation that would increase penalties for protesters on roadways and immunity for drivers who hit them) now whole heartedly support road blockage as a form of protest.
