This explains why Harris is so happy to favor nuking the filibuster. She's reasonably sure it won't happen. Trump, on the other hand, would cheerfully end it forever, even if it meant making the GOP a rump party for 50 years.

I suspect coming up with topics to write about without being overly repetitious is a challenge. Especially when you factor in trump's shtick hasn't changed in all these years. He has gotten more vile and more vicious, because that's the only way to keep the base entertained and happy.

So, with that out of the way, let me make a humble suggestion for the three of you (David, Steve and Jay) to work on a joint column. As kind of, sort of conservatives, (apologies to Jay for lumping him in with David and Steve) who clearly were (and still are) conservatives but not necessarily GOP/maga-ites this would be interesting (at least to me).

Who is the grand old party these days (not what, who)? It's not an easy task and it requires a good hard look in the mirror. Worse yet, i highly doubt anyone attempting to do this will not like the reflection they see looking back at them.

I could be wrong, but it also could be an interesting dive into the maga-sphere.
