Why stop there? I mean how about the natives who we promised land and rights to only to steal and kill them and break every treaty. How about the freed slaves and the 40 acres and a mule promise that Jackson overturned. Hell this country has broken promises to every veteran who was promised a job and health care after their service.
I know you wanna make this about this administration but the US has a long proud history of screwing everyone. Especially those not christian and white.
I guess most freed slaves did not receive 40 acres and a mule but some in Georgia did. I once prepped for a condemnation case as an expert witness before an administrative law judge. An abandoned 40 acre property in southeast Georgia originally titled to a freed slave was needed for a utility project. There were over a hundred heirs, all of whom wanted to sell for what we offered. The condemnation hearing for title was routine and served only to establish that we could pay to own it and some other party could decide who got what portion of the money after the back taxes (probably a few hundred dollars) were settled. That was at least forty years ago.
I suppose. The area I'm familiar with wasn't worth plowing so they did not need the mule. Peanuts and soybeans weren't big cash crops in the late 1800s.
Well written, Steve. USA credibility will be in the dumps for years.

Why stop there? Give England back to the Saxons. Let’s undo all of history while we’re at it. The trolling has to eat at your soul.
Who is talking about undoing history? All I did was point out that this country has a betrayal problem. Why so defensive?

A few freed slaves got the land Sherman promised before Jackson overturned the order. None got the mule.

"so they did not need the mule." Nuff said.
They could have used some chickens and a hog.
