Good analysis. The Republican campaign slate will not really miss more than half of those you mention as missing. Ron Desantis is my choice right now. I like Rick Perry. Jeb Bush would be a good candidate, but the more purist right wingers would sit it out. Liz Cheney could have done so much better if she had played the political game (nearly all politicians are dishonest and wishy-washy politically).
The irony is that the purist right-wingers are lining up behind Trump, who isn’t a pure conservative (or anything else), and DeSantis, who more culture war troll than conservative. Neither is a revelation, but it’s just indicative of the state of the GOP.
Of the choices here, I’d probably pick Jindal, a conservative who isn’t sullied by association with Trump and who also avoided be tarred as a Never Trumper.
I think we need more politicians like Cheney, who refuse to play the game. She took draining the swamp seriously and it cost her.
I like Jindal. Unfortunately, he has about as much charisma as I do.
I agree that we would be better off with a congress composed only of honorable human beings, but that's not the case. The problem with not playing the game is that your next job may be at CNN. Liz could have added something besides Trump hate to her message without becoming a Trump supporter.
Our elected officials (not leaders) are most often career politicians instead of public servants. That's what makes politics a game of deceit with a lot of show business mixed in. DeSantis is not a troll. He's just playing the game and doing it well. As a result, democrats, the media and others hell bent on punishing Republicans because most of them are Trump tolerant, are aligning against Governor DeSantis.
If you are in politics, you either play the game or you will be on the outside without a voice while the gamers are destroying our economy and our national defense.

There are far too many putting loyalty to party over loyalty to the Constitution and the principles therein.
