And here I was thinking that regardless of how poorly the conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians went, we were quite a ways away from "world war" danger. But you made the good point that Iran is the pivotal actor here, and their patrons may feel the need to jump in should the US go after them (on behalf of Israel).
Regarding the Gaza hospital blast: the images from the daylight show a very small possible impact crater and very little damage. The number of deaths (if any) are likely much lower, and (from what evidence is available via open sources) likely the result of a Hamas rocket hitting and its unspent fuel igniting.
