It seems like I've seen an uptick in the use of the F-bomb and obscene adjectives and gestures in the past few years. Even many elected members of Congress are starting to publicly use expletives with increasing regularity. In years past, many elected officeholders went out of their way to make sure that their use of hard expletives like the F-bomb was only said privately. Using such language only furthers tribalism and toxic partisanship, and isn't helpful. I've not been a fan of Biden's presidency in the slightest(save that his presidential conduct is worlds better than his predecessor), and find much of what his administration does is worthy of strong criticism. But I think that respecting the office of President is important, and I think using F-words to express their displeasure with a sitting President doesn't do that. I didn't like it when the progressive left did that to former presidents Trump and Bush 43. And those on the right should not refer to President Biden in that manner. By all means, critique policies and actions by the President. But do it in a way that respects the office.

This piece by Quin Hillyer(A NeverTrump conservative) of the Washington Examiner, nicely adds to your well written column, and sums up my thoughts on political discourse and Biden.

Do meme’s really serve any purpose in life? Before them, it was emails that were passed around and wreaked havoc.I remember around 2000 when my dad got so angry he never spoke to his sister and her husband again. Her husband loved to share his inane right wing crap to the point dad just said f-off.

Occasionally i come across left wing crap that makes me smile and i quickly move on. I would never repost it, or share it or shove it in anyone’s face. From time to time i take my shot at the orange guy simply because he is what he is. He is an affront to how i try and live my life and may well have been the most destructive force to our society’s norms.

Which brings me full circle to a point i have made before; what is the logic of trump flags and signs hoisted by so many? Hello, the election is over. I’ve laughingly told my wife someday i am going to have giant banners made and hang from the side of my house touting trump should go to prison and get to “know” his beloved bubba…but would I? Nope. It’s juvenile.

What has happened to this country and to people in general? Remember the good old days when certain language was banned on TV? Now days, watch the news and hear the stuff that used to be bleeped. I swear more than most but i blanch when i hear it coming from television set and newscasters i expect more from.

I know, cable is different; the internet is different. Maybe life has passed me by. This morning i opened my emails and there was one from your buddy EE. He took the liberty of relating a story being circulated by a “nurse” who claimed Biden was intentionally withholding drugs from red states. He freely admitted he didn’t know if was true but the damage was done, he said. Yup, done by him by shoving it in front of us.

I bring this up because it perfectly fits with the former president’s unending claims, “people are saying.” Now our sources are worthless memes and websites of questionable character and substance. It’s our brave new world. Make crap up and then regurgitate it over and over again. Suddenly absolute lies are the foundation for everything half the country believes in.

I see very little to be optimistic about. I just don’t.
