I always cringe at this types of posts. Clinton and Obama's economys were sure better than Bush and Trump's. I don't see any reason people shoud worry about how a democrat handles the economy.
From a conservative perspective, higher taxes, stifling regulation, and deficit spending even during prosperous times are not good policy. Of course, that applies to both parties.
But doesn't history show that the economy does just fine with higher taxes and increased regulation. Deficit spending also went down during both Obama and Clinton's presidency but that is a benefit of Rs being the minority party.
I think a lot depends on the margins. Taking money out of the economy with taxes tends to slow growth, if not shrink the economy. Trump’s tariffs hurt the agricultural and manufacturing sectors and led to a recession even before pandemic.
We aren’t going to go back to the 90% tax rates of the postwar era but taking money away from private business and individuals leaves less for investment, expansion, and consumption.
I agree that deficit does better under split control where Republicans check Democratic presidents.
Maybe not so much in the other direction for the economy. Both Clinton and Bush housing policy led to the Great Recession.
I fully support the air strike and would not waste time criticizing Joe for his actions that I agree with. Many on the left and right are criticizing him but most of the complaints from the right appear to be directed at the left's hypocrisy. The progressives who aren't critical are crediting Joe with having more noble motives than Trump.
