My only nit is David said Biden isn’t responsible for “any” of the economic woes. That is incorrect. He has sent mixed and poor messaging that has exacerbated problems in supply chain, banking and the markets. These do have an effect. Especially the energy markets, oil, OPEC and U.S. exploration and new drilling. Energy stocks are up, btw. Biden has blown easy opportunities to curb inflation, cut off problems before they became toxic, handle student loans, and deal with the border. His propensity for rake-stepping has had a measurable, negative effect on peoples perception of the economy and the future. Welcome to Jimmy Carter’s stagflation.

I turned to my wife last night as we were watching and said, "damn, Liz Chaney is spectacular." Her response was, i've always liked her (we are both vote solid D's). There was no preening, no show boating, just lay it and let it play. Very impressive.

All of which filtered into my thoughts when i read your header. In spite of what has been done to her, she is a Republican, she is conservative and i suspect still part of the GOP (unless i missed something). Perhaps the GOP is not lost.

I read a comment on one of the many sites i follow this morning and the comment was made, it doesn't matter what happens in the Wyoming election, her future is secure. I believe it is, as well it should be. She spelled it out beautifully.

The older i get, the more i do the whole what if thing. In this case, the rumination comes from John McCain's last book where he pondered asking Joe Lieberman to be his VP rather than Sarah Palin in 2008? What if?

Doesn't matter, but it does beg the question: What is next for Lix Chaney? History will remember her well. Hopefully before she becomes a footnote she can remain active and involved and help rebuild the sorry state we are in. She certainly appears to be up to the task.

My 88 year old mom only watches Fox News. She told me she is not interested in the hearings. She also said she was glad she wasn’t at the capitol because they would lie about who she is just like they are lying about everyone who was there. I asked if that meant they were all anti-fa and BLM and she didn’t answer. As long as Fox is allowed to continue to spew hatred and lies I have no faith in our democracy continuing. We are doomed.

Let's not forget the reason Pelosi first got the gavel: Dems ran a successful "culture of corruption" messaging campaign against the GOP. That was when, 2006? This year may see Part 2 of that campaign.

Very very hard to watch these videos. I go into "kill them out and let God sort them out" mood which is not good and not very Christian of me.

The GOP will do well in the midterms in part because Trump isn't running. He's trying to hover over the election like some MAGA Slayer from the Upside Down but really isn't. If he runs again (doubtful but possible) the burbs will run from him like the manure truck just fell over on their street.

I will say that some of the nutty candidates today make Todd Akin and Christine O'Donnell look sane and virtuous, comparatively speaking. At least they weren't peddling election conspiracies and other nonsense. If JD Vance, Walker, and other candidates that you mentioned win, it will be because they are lucky to have run in a GOP wave year. Had they ran in a year like 2018 or so, they would probably lose.
