100% on-board with the situation being investigated. Strongly suspect that it'll be a nothingburger on the John Durham scale, but sunlight is the best disinfectant.
Now that we are close (1/2 way there according to AOC) to overcoming the coverup exercise of the laptop, we should be recognizing that this laptop has sufficient evidence to impeach the Biden administration and multiple leaders of the swamps enforcement arm. Let's have at it and get this country back on track.
Maybe Biden deserves impeachment, but it would be a waste of time. There is no chance the Senate would convict him. I would rather see the Republican congress critters work to solve immigration, inflation, debt and supply chain problems. Meaningful Congressional oversight is a thing of the past. It's now just a platform for partisan theater. The fools can't even stay on topic, and it seems they don't speak a common language.
You may be right about the result of an impeachment but that is such a sad statement of the state of our government I have a hard time just glossing it over. You can't lose sight of the fact that the theater that is an impeachment or a Jan 6th hearing is a what makes politics these days and having only one side playing it, does not solve the problem.
It seems to me, the weaponization of impeachment began with the Republicans and the impeachment of Bill Clinton. I base that observation on the fact that Republicans failed to impeach Trump after January 6, never mind the first impeachment of Trump in the House of Representatives for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress over Trump's coercive phone call to Zelensky. Perhaps the first impeachment of Trump was unwarranted, I don't really know, but January 6 was right out there for all to see. Yes, Dems approached Pelosi about numerous things for which to impeach Trump prior to the 2019 impeachment, most of which had to do, in some form or fashion, with Trump's business dealings to include those with Chinese and Russian companies (which are concerning) and how many suggestions for impeachment have been offered over a slew of things related to Biden such as the withdrawal from Afghanistan, COVID, immigration? It is like they are throwing spaghetti against a wall until something sticks.
(Background for me...I was a staunch Republican and wholly supported the impeachment of Bill Clinton. In retrospect, I was foolhardy. I fail to see how his antics with an intern met the definition of high crimes and misdemeanors, especially when, within two decades, Republicans elected a serial adulterer, but I digress and also acknowledge they settled on the charge of lying to a federal grand jury about his dalliances with an intern, you know, because it was such a strong threat to our national security.)
As to the laptop, by all means investigate. Bring it all out in the open. I just wish the business dealings of the Trump family would be investigated with as much rigor...Jared Kushner and the Saudis, for example.
Whoa boy, let’s not get high on sniffing Jim Jordan’s hot air yet. We are far from impeachable offenses. But politically, yes the “October surprise” potential of the Hunter story was blunted in a very coordinated way. And I wonder how these skeletons have and are affecting Biden’s policy regarding Ukraine.
You do remember the Clinton impeachment, Right? A US President lying to the American public regarding knowledge and involvement with his son's overseas business dealing is impeachable! Biden has proclaimed on multiple occasions he never discusses and knows nothing about his son's overseas business dealings/Influence Peddling. That is clearly a lie.
I find that pretty interesting, so lying to a Federal Grand Jury about having oral sex from a subordinate in the Oval Office is worse than lying to the American electorate. We have a different opinion on the worth of the American electorate and the expected honesty of the countries leaders.
Has nothing to do with my opinion of the worth of the American electorate. It has to do with the Constitution, meaning for what a President can be impeached, and the fact that while lying under oath to a federal grand jury is illegal, lying to the American public is not. Both wrong? Yes. Both impeachable? No.

It does seem to be a one-way street.

He wasn't impeached for lying to the American public. He was impeached for lying to a federal grand jury. Not even remotely the same thing.
