So, for the Olympics, we should adopt Robot Jox rules?

A match for control of Alaska might goose viewership.

I live in an area, that can now be somewhat exurban as result of urban sprawl, but was for quite a few years, considered rural. I think one of the benefits that occurred as a result was having easy access to high speed internet. Expanding broadband to rural areas further out from the cities, and in areas of mountainous terrain, will I think be a major help economically in these areas. Many of these rural areas/isolated small towns have not kept up economically as well as major cities and metro areas, so I think expanding it to rural areas can result in some opportunities for decent economic growth in these areas. It would help narrow some of the disparities that exist between rural and urban parts of our country.

The only thing I can say about the Olympics thus far is that I was surprised to see skateboarding as a new Olympic event. It was cool to see some of the events over the weekend. The funny thing I heard, is that most of these skaters that are competing under the flag of different countries. But they are almost all from Los Angeles. I did a fair amount of skateboarding as a kid, though I wasn't all that great at it. But I do have memories of plenty of scrapes, cuts, and bruises as a result of moves gone bad. I never would've imagined that someday that there would be an Olympic level competition for it. Given the skill required to be a top flight skater in skateboarding, I think it is great that the best of them can compete for Olympic medals.
