I asked him and he couldn’t remember. They are studying the colonization now in social studies so he had to have heard it in class. I am going to keep asking until I can be sure they are not teaching this!
Just yesterday my 7 year old grandson and I were studying for his social studies quiz. He is a second grader in a Charter school here in Miami. Although not on the test I asked him why the colonists fled England to live here. He said “so slavery could continue “. 🤦♀️. I hope he confused the American Revolution with civil war. I will be asking! I can tell by his responses to my questions that freedom of religion was never discussed as a reason for the exodus. Reading your newsletter the hairs on my neck stood up and alarm bells went off. Thank you!
That’s quite an answer from a 7 year-old! I’d be very interested in where he heard that!
