Trump coming through unscathed isn't functionally all that different than the alternative of him making a mockery of the laws and getting away with it. I'm happy to take the chance that he comes through unscathed, as long as we've applied the law as we would with anyone else.

Pardon my reach, but i am going to do something i never do, post a link to another site; The Bulwark. JVL, Johnathan V Last, just posted the most interesting take on "conservatism' i have ever read. I have my bias, so my opinion isn't really important. What matters to me is more the reaction from Steve, Dave and Jay who were (and most likely still are) independent conservatives (rather than "republican's"). BTW, others who lean right feel fee to share their take on the article.

JVL's The Triad is almost always behind a paywall, but this one he made shareable. There's three parts to it (hence The Triad) but it's the first one in the article i was mesmerized by. Enjoy: https://www.thebulwark.com/p/conservative-legal-philosophy-was

"Biden should have pardoned him from the get-go and let him fade. Now, we might have the Trump in his most dangerous form: one who has been shot at (legally) without effect."

Pardoned him for what and when? Seriously Steve? The orange guy has contended and still contends he has done no wrong. I on the other hand am content to let justice play out for the guy who believed he was above it all.

He isn't, nor should anyone ever have felt he was. Especially him.
