Let's not discount the fear the GOP representatives/Senators have of violence from their base. This was best seen in the secret ballots re: Cheney and Greene.
The Democrats have never let fear of violence stop them. They preside over entire cities blanketed with violence. Republicans are more afraid of using police against their own constituents, since they can’t claim “the man” is victimizing them. It’s all narrative.
Huh? I'm talking about the GOP representatives/senators fearing violence being committed against them by their base. If they didn't fear their base, then they'd likely vote/speak differently regarding Trump/Greene/etc....
What does that have to do with Democrats, exactly?
I was not thinking of personal violence to the senators. If personal threats of violence is what the GOP has stooped to for so-called unity, it’s time to disband the party.

Yes the dreary spectacle will play out. It will fuel continued partisan politics in Congress. Where are the statesmen?
