The military would do its duty. This means if a Trumpist were in power, they would not follow illegal orders (like to seize voting machines). It also means that if a Democrat were in power (like Joe Biden, or--God forbid--Kamala Harris), they would follow lawful orders to quell a rebellion. Whoever organizes or participates in an armed rebellion against the lawful authority of the government of the United States is in a world of hurt, and that's if they survive to experience the hurt. As I've always told preppers, "when the Bradley Fighting Vehicle comes rumbling down your road, you lose." Period.

It also seems the people who fantasize about civil wars tend to be the first ones who don't want to be killed in one.

"The very fact that Republicans are afraid to travel to the poor neighborhoods of Chicago or any other big city is evidence that other, non-Republican folks have their own guns."

True but there is a huge difference between gun owners who possess firearms legitimately and those who possess firearms criminally. I suspect if the thugs from the 'hood launched an attack in the neighborhood I just left they would not fare well. My new neighborhood may be a little iffier but, surprisingly, six of the eight men who stopped by to welcome me were proud Marines and there are a lot of veteran tags on the vehicles.

Regardless, threats of civil war are reckless and ridiculous. Attempts to overthrow the government by force in set battles would fail. Rebellion could cause a lot of casualties by indiscriminate killing such as the terrorism that took place in England and Ireland. Nothing good can come of it. I don't know who Buzz Patterson is, but he is not likely a Red State author. He does qualify as crazy.

I cannot even fathom you having to write this kind of column David. Honestly, i can't. Yet, here it is and does anyone even question whether it's imaginable? Another civil war? Killing our neighbors and friends? Unimaginable. Yet, here we are.

A author of apparently some journalistic note, penning this type of bullshit. Sorry for the profanity, but that's what it is. We used to bemoan Howard Stern as a shock jock and his crass sexual innuendos. He got rich off it. Was it simply a tutorial?

Stop and think about how we got here. Today's "shock jocks" have nothing to do with dragging a porn queen on the show and having her tell all. Today's group of idiots fomenting the hatred, and getting filthy rich while doing it are the Alex Jones of the world. If it was only one, we could survive. Sadly, when every talk station in the country; when every cable channel has to have their share of shitdisturbers, everything becomes legitimate and true.

You all know this. You also all know, trump was the largest perpetrator in bringing this country to where we are today. The very idea anyone would still support him and the problems he has caused is beyond comprehension. Nope, not saying he did it alone, but there has been no single force greater than him to be the accelerator for the fire looming before all us.
