I saw the Carville interview and mentioned to my wife; "i can actually understand what he said." Usually he speaks so fast i have to read the closed captions or have her interpret for me. That aside, i think he is spot on; 50/50.

I found it curious to listen to them talk about debate prep. Trump's sounded pretty lame, and frankly he is so undisciplined as a human being, it almost doesn't matter. He simply cannot help being anything but what he is; a bombastic narcissist.

Frankly i do hope he shows up; the sight of him screaming into a turned off mic and having no impact on what Joe is saying will be priceless...and telling. And, as you indicated, just like his failure to testify in any of his trials speaks volumes to what his professional handlers know about him. They've got to keep him from speaking extemporaneously. Foot in mouth disease has been apparent his entire life and over the last couple of years he's found ways to get both feet there at the same time.

Here's hoping he shows, getting the old popcorn popper fired up and ready to kick back and watch "tired old Joe" destroy the great one. Here's the oddity; Joe doesn't need to do much other than stay lucid while trump's only hope is not to be trumpy. Good luck with that.

Instead of an enlightening policy discussion we will get both candidates trying to get the other side’s folks to stay home in November. Sort of a win by subtraction. No Lincoln Douglas debate here. The 2024 blue plate special. Lowest commons denominator politics. But I will watch with the curiosity of rubbernecking a slow motion train wreck.

As long as the article mentioned wagering; i'll bet Joe talks way more about policy than trump does Jay. Way more, not even close. Oh for sure he'll be bellowing about immigrants and deporting the masses. The bigger question is, will he mention pardoning the criminals from J6? Will he be boasting about rounding up and locking up all the deep state? Will he be swooning over his love affair with Kim, Vlad and Xi? Best of all, will he be bragging about making sure the billionaires who already have it all getting the sun-setting tax cuts restored in 2025?

See, this is trump's problem his policies and his agenda are pure folly. For the average working stiff, none of what he is crowing about will make a hill of beans difference in their lives. I know, i know, he fights to own the libs, so that's all that really matters.

Biden should be setting the stage for Trump to not show up, saying he'd show up regardless.

A bigger part of Biden's problem is the "vibecession", as Will Stencil puts it. Our economic factors are pretty good/great, and if Trump was president the media would be saying so - but because it's Biden/a Dem in office the media just has not been saying so. It's shown up in polls as "I'm doing well, the country is not".

If Trump wins, watch Republicans start talking up the economy, even if the indicators don’t change or get worse.
