"He will be difficult for Collins to beat. Ossoff has a war chest of about $31 million, and will raise much more before November. I am sure Republicans will open up the piggy bank and $100 million is not out of the question, so the race might hit $250 million total. I wouldn’t be surprised if it went higher."
I pity you, David, Curtis, and everyone else reading this in Georgia. I have in-laws in Iowa, so I get a taste of what they go through every 4 years with the presidential primary elections when it comes to a flood of political advertising, and woe be to any car dealership, carpet installer, or local ambulance chaser who wants to purchase any radio or television ads in Georgia through the election.
Even here in deep blue Illinois, I can't escape it, as I get ads from Ossoff in YouTube looking to top off his campaign coffers for the battle to come. (Usually when I'm listening to something from the site in the shower and I can't hit that SKIP button...)
Give me a ring if anyone wants any help starting their own self-hosted video service (your own personal Netflix) to avoid all the ads.
MAGA has poisoned the well and as long as the theme remains it must be Red or Blue we will continue to sink into an ever increasingly pick your poison election cycle. Trump has managed to do exactly what was feared back in 2016. The Republican Party has congealed into a Trump dominated swamp. Unless they fumigate their house of all MAGA influences, we will continue to be presenter with Dumb and Dumber every election cycle.
Sadly, in GA, I feel we are between a rock and a hard place. Collins is MAGA; Ossoff is Israel. Ossoff for President? Of course, he is being groomed in the way that Obama was groomed. Who of my generation thought we would ever see a black face in the White House. But on the day after that election, we understood who he was--a black face in white, filling his administration with Wall Street, MIC, grifting his way to a $17M mansion in Martha's Vinyard. And now Ossoff? Who in my generation would ever imagine a Jewish president? If this comes to pass, it will be Israel in the White House. And then a $17M mansion on the Mediterranean Sea. So which is it--a rock or a hard place?
I know plenty of Jews who are not for what Bibi is doing in the Middle East and protest it as strongly as some of us goys.
Is there anything Ossoff has done that suggests that he'd be any different than a typical Democrat when it comes to Israel? I haven't heard anything that pings my radar*, but I may be missing something.
* (My radar is tuned to be pretty anti-Bibi, but not really all that anti-Israeli, in the same way I'm anti-Trump, but not anti-America.)
I don’t agree with the statement “Ossoff is Israel.” He is a Democrat. As such there is a built-in Israel-as-oppressor test. Some Dems don’t pass the sieve but to be vetted as a presidential candidate it is required. Therefore if Dems are vetting Ossoff for later presidential material, his “Jewishness” will be evaluated in light of the requirements.

Jews aren't allowed to be POTUS, because you think there's dual loyalty issues (a la JFK and the Pope)?
And Steve is liking that anti-Jew statement?

How about "he's an American Jew", which you and I both know involves general support for Israel with plenty of issues taken with their government.
The statement from Barb is just a flat-out dual loyalty claim about Jews.
